Upon succesful registration as a mercenary with the River City Guild Hall's Mercenary Clans Division applicants are gifted with their own personal Clan Primer! When you create a character in Darkness Rising imagine that your character is handing in the form to the Guild Hall to register as a recognised mercenary within the River City region. Upon being accepted as a mercenary your character is then givin a small shell shaped device that fits lightly in the palm of your hand.
Specially created by some of the best Artificers of the Empire, your very own Clan Primer will keep you intouch and up-to-date via it's magically powered communications array and brightly lite screen. How the Clan Primer works on PlayThe Clan Primer is a convient method to allow your characters to communicate with each other over long distance (imagine that all IC PMs are sent via the Primer), to keep up-to-date on clan business, to look for missions rather than constantly posting that your looking for missions and ofcourse so that you don't need to post asking for directions and where everything is, you just assume your character looked it up on his Primer.
Each Primer is synced with that person's clan, or is unsynced if not a member of any clans, and will only allow you to post in your clan's Primer site/page. Also imagine it works as a kind of key to your clan's base and as proof of identification, so say you want to prove who you are to someone and what clan you are in, you can show them your Primer or send your ID card to thier Primer.
Also, all registered Mercenaries are stored within the City's Primer info bank, so that anyone that bothers can access your character sheet via their Primer. Think of looking at another's race/class/lvl on the side of thier posts as looking them up on your Primer.
